Scope:
Replacement of ageing skylight roofing across a large-format Bunnings retail store while maintaining safe public access during trading hours.
Works were staged to allow normal store operations, with spotters and barricades used to secure aisles where the roof void was exposed. Crane lifts for material loading and waste removal were scheduled after trading hours to meet safety requirements. Roof access was achieved via EWP due to limited space for scaffolding.
Outcome
- 3,200 lm of existing skylight sheets removed and disposed
- 3,200 lm of new metal roof sheeting installed
- Roof works safely completed during normal store operations
- Crane lifts coordinated after hours for safety
- EWP access used due to restricted scaffold space
- Project delivered within approximately 4 weeks
